Editing a masterpage

There are two ways to edit a masterpage. You can edit the properties of a masterpage, such as name, description, rollback versions and you can edit the content of a masterpage, such as adding widgets.

Editing the properties of a masterpage

You can edit the properties of a masterpage, such as name, description, include Javascript and CSS links or rollback versions, etc.
1. In the main menu at the top of the screen, under Masterpages item, click Masterpage Properties, then choose the masterpage you want to edit from Masterpage list.
 
2. On the masterpage page, choose masterpage you want to edit from Masterpage list, then click Properties button from toolbar above masterpage preview.
 

Editing the properties

1. You can edit the properties of a masterpage. To edit the properties click Property button from toolbar.
 

  • Masterpage Name: The masterpage name displays in masterpage list. Example: Company Info
  • MasterPage Description: This is a note of what use of the masterpage.
  • Template: Template cannot be changed once created.
  • Template Masterpage: Template Masterpage cannot be changed once created.
  • Template Theme: In this dropdown list you choose a theme of the new masterpage.

2. After modify all the information, click Update button to save the changes.

Include JavaScript and CSS

You can manage JavaScript and CSS links. To edit the links click MetaTag button from toolbar. The Global JavaScript and CSS links are disabled here, It gives preview of global settings. They can be changed from Website settings.
1. You can link new JavaScript and CSS files.

  • Enter URL of your file
  • Click Add Script or Add CSS button save the changes.

2. You can edit JavaScript and CSS links.

  • Click Edit link next to JavaScript or CSS link.
  • Modify URL of the link.
  • Click Update Script or Update CSS save the changes.

3. You can delete JavaScript and CSS links

  • Click Delete link next to JavaScript or CSS link.

Viewing version history of a masterpage

Use this function to view different versions of a masterpage. Every time you edit a masterpage in Designer Mode, a version of this masterpage is saved by the system.

  • To view the history, click Version button from toolbar.
  • To preview a previous version of a masterpage click Preview link. A new window is popup for preview.
  • To rollback/active to previous version of a masterpage, click Active link.
  • Active Status displays which version is active.
